Summary

A wealthy widow hires a sled team to find her old lover at a remote destination in the Yukon, but her plans to get him back fall short when she finds him in the company of an Indian woman. Tense dialog and an excellent story line make this a classic well worth enjoying. 0:35.8	Jack London. This one a tale of Love Lost in the bitter extremes of the
0:40.8	Yukon. It's one of London's best. The title is The Great
0:45.2	Interrogation. Hope you enjoy it. To say the least, Mrs. Sather's career in
0:51.8	Dawson was meteoric.
0:54.0	She arrived in the spring with dog sleds and French Canadian voyagers,
0:59.0	blazed gloriously for a brief month,
1:02.0	then departed up the river as soon as it was free of ice.
1:04.7	Now womanless Dawson never quite understood this hurried departure,
1:09.2	and the local 400 felt a grieved and lonely till the gnome strike was made and old
1:14.7	sensations gave way to new. For head had delighted in Mrs. Sather and received her
1:20.2	wide-armed. She was pretty charming and moreover a widow and because of this
1:26.4	she had once had it heal any number of Eldorado Kings officials and
1:30.8	adventuring younger sons whose ears were yearning for the
1:34.0	prowl prowl of a woman's skirts. The mining engineers revered the memory of
1:39.4	her husband the late Colonel Sather, while the Syndicate and Promoter representatives spoke awesomely of his deals and manipulations.
1:47.0	For he was known down in the States as a great mining man, and as an even greater one in London.
1:53.0	Why his widow of all women should have come into the country
1:56.0	was the great interrogation.
1:58.0	But they were a practical breed, the men of the Northland,
2:02.0	with a wholesome disregard for theories and a firm grip on the facts.
2:06.8	And to not a few of them, Karen Sather was a most essential fact.
