It's 7 a.m. and the city of Barcelona is waking up.

10-year-old Alex skates down Las Rambles, a wide boulevard lined with tall trees. He glides across the smooth paving stones with ease.

Whohoo!

Tomorrow is the Three Kings Parade and Festival.

It's a big celebration that takes place every year on the 6th of January.

The three wise men parade through the city on giant floats, throwing candy and gifts

to all of the kids. It's one of Alex's favorite days of the year.

The city is alive with preparations for the big event.

Twinkling lights are being strong across the trees,

and the street stalls are selling special cakes and

ornaments. As Alex makes his way down the boulevard he passes by the local

floristerias and new stands he greets them with a warm smile.

Ola, Signiorita Rosa, your flowers are looking extra beautiful this morning.

Alex skates down to the next stall, with a newspaper vendor is stacking magazines.

Hello, sir, do you have it? The latest edition of Aventuris Catalans?

Alex is eager to get his hands on this week's issue of his favorite comic book.

It's written in both English and Catalan, so he gets to practice both languages at once.
