where we put down our worries from the day and pick up a good book.

Thank you again for being here with me.

Tonight we are continuing with the great Gatsby. But before we do, take some time to be present where you are right now.

Start off by taking one deep breath in through the nose and out through the mouth.

I invite you to gently close your eyes

and notice where your body is, the positioning and how your body is feeling.

If you have any tension anywhere, allow that to soften or adjust your body if that helps. Now find a stillness and take your awareness to your environment. What sounds? what sounds and smells are around you.

Think about the temperature of the air and any other details that come to mind. Bringing your focus back to the sound of my voice, settle into the story now as I recap our last episode.

Gatsby replaced all his staff with friends of Wolfshimes, who he said would be sure not to gossip, and his weekend-long

parties ceased. In their plays, Gatsby hid away, admitting nobody but Daisy who visited most afternoons.

He called Nick on one occasion on behalf of her,

inviting him to Daisy's house for dinner, assuring him that Jordan Baker would be there too.

They all arrived one hot afternoon and Tom cordially welcomed Gatsby.

When he left to fetch the drinks. Daisy rushed over and kissed Gatsby on the mouth before a

nurse arrived with a little girl in tow. Gatsby stared as if he hadn't really thought the child

existed while Daisy tried to convince everybody that she didn't resemble Tom at all.

At dinner, Daisy made a comment toward Gatsby, and their eyes met a second too long, and Tom noticed.

Abruptly, Daisy suggested they go into town, and Tom insisted he drive Gatsby's car.
