I'm Lou Dobbs with the Great America Show Midday News Update, millions of Americans choking on dangerous Canadian smoke.

If you live in the Northeast, some Midwestern states, and the Eastern Seaboard,

you're most likely gagging a bit on smoke and toxic particulates,

filling the air from Canadian wildfires, from Quebec to Nova Scotia,

and Indiana to North Carolina 13 states whose residents are now under severe air quality alerts,

urged to stay inside for their health. At last count, more than 400 wildfires are raging in Canada,

from Quebec and Toronto to Nova Scotia, more than half of those fires still burning out of control.

The poisonous smog that has resulted may last for several days.

CNN has fired CEO Chris Lickt. The embattled CEO lasted just over a year at the Warner Brothers

Discovery-owned CNN. CEO of Warner Brothers Discovery David Zazloff released the following statement

this morning. Quote, I met with Chris and he'll be leaving CNN, I've known Chris for many years

and have enormous respect for him, personally and professionally, but here is the important part.

Unfortunately, things did not work out the way we had hoped, and ultimately that's on me,

I take responsibility. Ratings under Lickt were down 25% from last year, the company losing a half

billion dollars in the time frame, and two rhinos enter the presidential race for the Republican

nomination. Former Vice President Mike Pence today announced he'll be running for the 2024

nomination. Pence's announcement comes just a day after former governor of New Jersey,

Chris Christie announced he's running as well. And new revelations from House Oversight Committee

chairman James Comer shedding more light on FBI corruption. Comer telling just the news,

John Solomon that the FBI has withheld Biden bribery allegations since 2017 that incriminating

information held through the 2020 presidential campaign and election and two impeachments
