Brian, I've been following you for years, of course, on Twitter.

What were some things that intrigued you on animal intelligence?

I think if we don't understand animal intelligence to some degree, even primates, right?

How are we going to really understand machine intelligence and what is intelligence

and things of that nature?

Quantum physics led me into trying to understand the brain and to understand the observer.

Why the heck does an observation change a scientific test?

Let's look at humanity.

Humanity is basically tool builder and storyteller.

That's our existence with tool builders and storytellers.

If we took that away, we basically wouldn't exist.

We had to evolve extreme storytelling ability because we're relatively weak animals.

And so in order we had to communicate to our kids, hey, don't go over the mountain

because we knew that's where the lions were.

We had to tell them that's where Satan is.

And we have to tell a whole story about Satan and monsters.

And we had to develop storytelling ability to basically help the next generation live longer.

And I'm sure you know this being very creative is that when you get into the flow of things,

you're kind of taking a step back, but the spark of insight, that creative spark that comes into you,

nobody's been able to fully define it.
