It's incumbent upon the press to explain, no, this really is the politics of suicide, and it's insane for anyone to vote for it.

Did the media really explain consistently and clearly why the government shut down to begin with?

Healthcare.gov launched at the beginning of this month, and the results were unpalatable. The kitchen caught fire. The waiters had no idea what was going on.

Everybody was running around screaming, and the people were out there in the dining room waiting for their health care to show up, and nothing happened.

Also, getting your DNA tested is as easy as spitting into a vial, but be warned, the results

may be hard to swallow.

I think maybe young people have a tendency to imagine dying very dramatically.

I didn't think it was going to say, you need to take care of yourself otherwise as you get older.

To borrow a phrase from a past crisis, the long national nightmare is over.

That was CNN's Kate Baldwin Thursday with a powerful description of what happened this week.

That's how many media voices portrayed the end of the shutdown.

In spite of that portrayal being utterly untrue.

As long as congressional Republicans can use routine debt limit approval to sue for democratic concessions,

there's every possibility we will be back in the nightmare in four months as the next deadline approaches.
