The President announced that there's hardly a livelihood that this bill would not benefit. According to new research from Statista, more than half of the workforce in the United States is expected to be freelancing by 2028. In response, lawmakers are advocating for independent workers to receive voluntary, portable workplace benefits. In the meantime, gig workers in some states are already benefiting from a pilot program launched by DoorDash that offers a savings account.
