about Republicans effectively being not screwed, but in a big political crunch over Obamacare.

The talks have broken down, effectively, over figuring out a way to extend these Obamacare

subsidies, and for vulnerable House Republicans, House

Republicans in tough seats, this is a problem. These Republicans must now wage a new fight

figuring out if and how they could force their party to take up legislation to help Americans

dealing with rising health costs before the midterm elections. If you look at the legislative

climate, think about it. The Senate is now

consumed with a funding standoff over ICE, which the House is also consumed with. There are a host of

other issues that John Thune wants to take up, including housing, a farm bill, highway bill,

crypto, and more. There's deep skepticism among Republicans about getting another reconciliation

bill done this year, which makes

it much harder to see any health care bill passing. And bipartisan efforts on housing and
