The word gospel means good news, but it's only good news if you understand the bad news. The bad news is that the human

race has a problem. Every person is a sinner before a holy God and unable to save themselves.

That's bad news.

Romans chapter 3, verse 10 says

there is none righteous righteous not even one.

Men are sinners the Bible declares and unable to save themselves they're unable to fix the problems.

Secondly, the penalty.

Every person is under the sentence of death

and will be forever separated from God because of their sin.

Look at Romans chapter 6 verse 23. For the wages of sin is death.

He says, sin has a pay scale, and it's called death.
