So let's talk about Joseph James DeAngelo, the Golden State Killer.

A series of burglaries, over 120 of them in Vaisalaya, California, between April of 1974 and December of 1975, is where we begin.

These break-ins were perpetrated by someone they nicknamed the Visalia Ransacker.

He would rifle through things ransacking, looking for things to take.

Odd things, like a single earring, even though both were there for him to take.

Oftentimes, more expensive things would be passed over.

Investigators believed whoever was doing this was doing it for the thrill of it.
