What does it really mean when a son ask for his inheritance?

Words do help you grasp the real truth in the prodigal son.

You have to understand that in the Middle Eastern culture, but particularly at the time of Jesus,

it would be unthinkable for a boy to come to his father and ask for part of his estate.

Because when the child is asking for that part of the estate,

he's basically saying, Father, I wish you were dead.
