Are you in a desperate situation and maybe don't even realize it?

Every person faces a hopeless and helpless condition until we turn to the God who cares enough to rescue us.

What is the highest, most lofty, most noble idea found in the entire word of God?

There is one that is above and beyond all the rest, and only a God who cares could possibly

have thought such a thought.

And I want you to look, if you will, in Hebrews chapter one again.

This was our text in the last message. Hebrews chapter one, and I want us to read these first

three verses together. And so he begins by saying, God, after he spoke long ago to the fathers and

the prophets in many portions and in many

ways, in these last days has spoken to us in his son, whom he appointed heir of all things,

through whom also he made the world. And he is the radiance that is Christ, is the radiance of

his, that is God's glory, and the exact representation of his nature,

and upholds all things by the word of his power. When he had made purification of sins,

he sat down at the right hand of the majesty on high. It is that last phrase I want us to look at. When he had made purification of

enough for us to rescue us, what we have to ask, first of all, is to rescue us from what?

And so let me say that the rescue operation that we're talking about the purpose of that rescue operation was in order to deliver us
