If you'll turn to Exodus 3 and I want to continue, in fact I want to finish this series that's being preached on defining moments.

And when Pastor David called me and told me about this series, immediately a message came to my mind.

One of the great things about preaching when I come to Gateway is I get to preach my favorite messages.

And this is one of my favorite messages, and it's called the now God or the God of now. I want to talk to

you about something about the nature of God related to how he relates to us and how he operates in the

now. In fact, he only operates in the now, and he will never change that.

And understanding that helps us to relate to him in the right way.

This is Exodus chapter 3. Moses had been chased out of Egypt when he was 40 years old and by

Pharaoh. He was there, he was, he he was they were going to kill him because he

had killed the Egyptian who was persecuting a Jewish person and so he had lived in the

wilderness for 40 years and now God was sending him back at 80 years old to be the

the deliverer of Israel.

And so he's asking God a very important question, Exodus 3, verse 13.

Moses said to God, indeed when I come to the children of Israel and say to them,

the God of your fathers has sent me to you and they say to me, what is his name? What shall I say to them?

And God said to Moses, I am who I am.

And he said, those you shall say to the children of Israel,

I am has sent me to you.

Moreover, God said to Moses,

thus you shall say to the children of Israel, the Lord

God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob, has sent me to

you. This is my name forever, and this is my memorial to all generations.
