Dr Tony Evans says the goal of discipleship isn't education, it's transformation.

And even that's a job we can't do alone.

God will do the transforming,

but you have to be located in the place

where the transforming occurs.

Discipleship is that developmental process of the local church that seeks to bring

Christians from spiritual infancy to spiritual maturity so that they can replicate the process with someone else.

God's goal for creating the church was to be the location where disciples are crafted and made.

The two key verses I want to focus on are

17 and 18.

He says,

Now the Lord is the spirit,

and where the spirit of the Lord is there is liberty.

But we are with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord
