So God, both in nature and redemptive history, offers you the glory of His name to enjoy,

to cherish, to treasure, to make it your highest value.

And what do we do with it? We it look at it and say no and then exchange it

for money or power or success or marriage or children or health and that trade dishonors God and is what we call sin.

All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

I'm going to stop there and just make sure this unbelievably familiar gospel verse for sharing Christ, you feel the God-centeredness of it. Because he defines virtually,

doesn't he, sinning by falling short of the glory of God. And the weight is right here.

This is what sin is. This is what makes sin so horrible.

Now the word falls short might not be the best translation.

The word Hustoreo is to lack, L-A-C-K, and lack the glory of God.

But in what sense is sin a lacking of the glory of God?

And I find that probably the best exposition of 323 is 123.

Because 123 says they exchanged the glory of God

for the likeness of animals, birds, reptiles, man. And so the lacking of the glory of God is
