Summary

The glory of God is a constant theme throughout the Bible. It is also mentioned frequently throughout church history. The Westminister Shorter Catechism describes the purpose of our existence this way: "Man's chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy him forever." In John 16:14, the Holy Spirit's purpose includes glorifying Jesus. Today, many songs include phrases like, "Show us your glory!" But what exactly is the glory of God?

0:14.4	being your host. For the Gospel is all about providing sound doctrine for every day people
0:19.0	and I'm excited to jump into our topic for this episode. But first, before we dig in,
0:22.8	I got two big announcements for you. First, For the Gospel is hosting its first ever
0:27.6	conference, a lot of firsts in this episode. We're going to cover dating and courtship. It's
0:32.3	geared towards the next generation. So go to For the Gospel.org for all the information and click
0:37.1	on conferences and it'll be right there. It's called DTR defining the relationship God's way.
0:42.8	September 24th and 25th. So just in a couple months in beautiful Southern California, our host
0:48.5	site for the conference will be Mission Bible Church where Pastor Tony Wood and Jesse Randolph
0:53.8	as well, some pastors for Mission Bible and our executive director of For the Gospel, Pastor
0:58.8	Brett Skinner, who's the executive pastor there, are all going to be helping us kick off this conference
1:03.6	and so we'll be there. They're all an incredible part of the For the Gospel team. So can't wait
1:07.9	to meet you there. Bring your college, young adult, small group, bring some friends. If you're in
1:12.4	the California area, you go to the Masters University or Biola or somewhere like that or another
1:16.7	church. Come on over and enjoy Will Fellowship. We'll have some food trucks and some incredible
1:20.8	sessions on dating and courtship and get you ready for the future.
1:26.5	Number two, I'm leading a church plant with an incredible team this February 2022. We're planting
1:33.3	the Shepherd's House Bible Church not sure if you saw on social media but we're going to launch
1:37.5	in Chandler, Arizona and so an update for us here at FTG. I'm going to continue to lead for the
1:42.5	Gospel and we'll put out equipping resources here and do media still here but my weekly preaching
1:48.3	and shepherding ministry will be focused on the Shepherd's House Bible Church and I can't wait
1:53.5	Lord willing to grow old with our church family there as the pastor of preaching and teaching.
