Last Thursday, President Trump announced that the United States has launched a number of

strikes against ISIS in Nigeria.

I read this news with dismay because this is exactly what Dr. Patricia Akupusi, today's guest at The Glenshow,

has warned against when we taped our conversation three weeks ago in early December.

She is a wise and well-studied observer of the situation on the ground in Nigeria,

being a Nigerian native herself.

And I think we would do well to listen to her.

And today we're going to be talking about something that rarely

gets the clarity, depth, or attention that it deserves in the United States, and that is the

ongoing violence in northern Nigeria. Violence that has taken thousands of innocent lives,

including the lives of many Christian villagers. Now, if you follow the American press,

you'll hear the word vocal haram tossed around as if it were a monolithic force of Islamic extremism sweeping across Africa.
