Genesis chapter 3 in your Bibles. It's going to be up on the screen or if you have a physical

We're in Genesis chapter 3. I'm excited to preach today and we're preaching out of maybe

a familiar story. We're preaching out of the story, the life of Adam and Eve. In Genesis chapter two,

we see Adam and he counts the animal or he names the animals and God puts him to sleep and out of his

rib he gives him Eve.

And then in Genesis chapter 3, we see Adam and Eve on the scene and we are introduced to a new character, the serpent.

Everyone was like, I thought this was like a Jesus thing and now you're talking about snakes.

But we're introduced in Genesis chapter 3 to a brand new character. And it says it right here in

verse 1. It says, now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had

made. And he said to the woman, did God really say, you must not eat from any tree in the garden?

And the woman said to the serpent, we may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say,

you must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it or you will die.

You will not certainly die, the serpent said to the woman, for God knows that when you eat from it,

your eyes will be open and you will be like God knowing good. Can we just pause for a second?
