Yeah, when I lived in Seattle, I was going to X-ray school at the

The Medical Institute. And I used my motorcycles, my primary means of getting

anywhere. So yeah, rode everywhere.

These days, Aaron Gertler lives in Kitsap County across the Puget Sound from Seattle.

But 13 years ago, nearly months of 2008, he was still in the city,

studying, working, riding bikes.

There's this big motorcycle club called the Pacific Northwest Riders.

And Aaron was a member. It was a good way to make friends,

good excuse to drink with a bunch of people who shared your interests.

One evening at a PNW meetup, Aaron found himself sitting across from a young woman

named Arpanajanaga. Arpanah told Aaron she'd grown up in India and

come to the Seattle area to work in tech just a few months earlier.

Aaron was drawn to her right away. She was this fascinating contradiction,

a biker, a volunteer at the local fire department, a beautiful daughter and

older sister who never missed her daily calls with her family.
