23 year old nurse and former beauty queen Alexandra Viv Churoke thought the warm spring night in 1962 be perfect for a walk down by the river before her midnight shift at Saskatoon City Hospital.

Alexandra did not show off for work that night and it was not until 13 days later the children stumbled upon her broken body in a shallow grave.

Someone had savagely beaten the young woman brutally raped her and then buried her alive leaving her to die nearly 60 years later no one has ever been brought to justice in Alexander Viv Churoke's murder.

Yeah, I'm sure she was there in 1962 she didn't go to Calgary till I think like late 60s so she would have been there.

Yeah, wow. On learning of this case I thought of the mysterious case of Cindy James a story dark protein covered in episode 43 both women were nurses who disappeared and were discovered two weeks later.

But as I researched I found the similarities pretty much ended there.

Alexandra's murder does not raise the same questions that Cindy James did but it's no less compelling because it is unsolved.

And plus Saskatoon is tiny like small town so.

Alexandra Viv Churoke was born on April 20th 1939 in Saskatchewan near the tiny village of Endeavor just over 300 kilometers west of Saskatoon.

Daughter of a sizable Ukrainian family Alexandra was the youngest of 10.
