Solomon closes the book of Ecclesiastes with these words. Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter.

Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. Each of us have been given only one life. What will we do

with it? Life. It's not a game. And in this journey through the book of Ecclesiastes,

Scott Pauley will guide us to better understand the true meaning of life.

We are by large a spoiled people.

We're so well cared for, so comfortable.

Even the poorest among us really knows so little about true poverty.

Because our standard of living, our expectation, the conveniences that we enjoy are so far beyond what most people in any generation have ever known.

And I'm fear that the great result of this is that people have become absolutely consumed with the blessings and have completely forgotten the blesser.

We've enjoyed the gifts while giving no thought at all to the giver of all these good gifts.

We return to the book of Ecclesiastes today to the closing verses of Ecclesiastes 5

and the opening verses of Ecclesiasties 6.

Now remember, you very often have to read through the chapter divisions to get the full emphasis.

And we're really just continuing today the same emphasis from our last study. Do you remember

the things money cannot buy? They cannot buy satisfaction. They cannot buy sleep or peaceful rest.

And they certainly cannot buy your soul. Why is that? Because true riches are spiritual.

And the greatest blessings are the eternal blessings that outlive this life. And every good thing we enjoy here really was meant just to be a foreshadow

of what is to come and a reminder to us every day that God has been very, very good to us.

The Bible teaches in the New Testament that the goodness of God leads us to repentance.

Maybe it'd be good if we all just paused for a moment and just pondered how good God has

been to us.
