Of course, the occasion is Father's Day, where our nation celebrates Father's as we did earlier

this year with Mother's Day.

It's a special thing though because it's also during the year of St. Joseph,

the first and only time in church history where we've had an entire year consecrated to reflecting

upon the grandeur and the greatness of St Joseph as being not only the father of

Jesus but our father too the father of Jesus, but our father too, the patron of the universal church.

And to make this a sort of triple blessing for me, it's also a special year because just a few

weeks ago I had a chance to celebrate the elevation of one of our five sons, Jeremiah, to Holy Orders, watching my own son become father Jeremiah not less of a father than I am but by

supernatural and sacramental means even more as a breadwinner I provided him and the other kids their natural

sustenance but now through the power of the Holy Spirit and the laying on of

hands by the Bishop he has become a eucharistic breadwinner.

And one of the first things we did after his ordination and his first mass, we invited him

to the house and a number of nieces and nephews lined up to have him hear their confession.

And last of all, his father too.
