Everybody and welcome back. Welcome back. I say welcome back because so much has happened. So the world has turned. It feels like more than

two, three, four, five, six, seven times. We have had extra life marathons. There have been elections. Nations have risen and fallen. The sun has expired. We are in the cold death of the universe. And we have come out the other side here on the giant beast cast. I'm joined by 1.1 Alex Navarro. Hello. Thank. Hello. How's it going? I'm joined by 2.1 Abby Russell. Yep. I'm joined by 3.1 Dan Navarro. Dan Navarro. Dan Navarro.

0:50.8

I need to get the 5.1. You didn't know. Yeah. I wasn't counting myself. Well, that's what you were. I'm the point one. I'm the so well, we're never going to get to 4.1. That's why Dan Navarro is here. We're joined by 4.1 Dan Rakers. Yes. Hello. I need you to know. I'm joined by the person who set up this joke. He was clearly wrong about Abby's speaker system. Her 5.1 gorgeous 5.1 surround center. Jeff. Do you have any questions?

1:20.8

Do you have anything you need to say to me? You can say it. Where's the safe space? You know, I think I know your upset. You were very upset. I'm upset that I didn't know what you had. Yeah, because you didn't explain it. Okay, because you cut me off to tell me it was a bad system. Wow. No, that was the joke part of it. It could still be bad. I haven't heard it. It's good. It's a perfectly fine stuff. I'm glad that we're kicking this this podcast off with just pure acrimony. We were trying to figure this out here. It's the thing. Jeff, did you think she just had the bar and he had a surround speaker?

1:50.8

I'm pretty sure I talked about him or I started to talk about how they were Bluetooth about how my stuff is Bluetooth and the back speakers were connected to the subwoofer. If you said the word back speakers, and I heard it, I would have not gone on. Well, maybe if you maybe next time don't come me off when I'm describing my beautiful speakers, I can have a lot to do with it. But nevertheless, I was I forgive you. Well, I was under the brand plus like, you know, a simple apology is often better than excuses. You know what better than a simple apology and knife fight.

2:20.8

No, we have to be of like equal weight and strength. Well, I don't know how that works out. I mean, look, that's how the thing is. You got it. It's like you're fighting somebody your own size. But at the same time with a knife, it like weight and strength, there's nothing to do with the same knife that you just fight. A game of nicey baddie aside. How about this? This is knifey knifey. How about this equal out the weight and the strength you both got a knife, but the knife is made up of the weight difference. So that's the point.

2:50.8

That's terrible. That's just sole caliber. All right. Rock paper scissors system. Oh, we finally found the origin. That's on the children. Yes. No, no, no, no, no, no, you don't get to call us children. Absolutely not. You've lost the right. He was like, why not for an apology? I'm sure I'm sure. Yeah, that's the ticket. So really though, if you did say that it was, you know, separate speakers, like, why didn't you say like, no, the speakers are separate? I'd be that's an apology. I said, I talked about how well my, my, my soundbar has

3:20.8

the three in the front left right center. And then I got the two in the back. For what it's worth. I don't remember that either, but I also remember nothing about that conversation. So the only thing I remember from that conversation is that you are wrong. Oh, you fucker. All right, let's move on into other stuff. Yeah. Oh, boy, what we're going to talk about later. It's a correction. I know we'll get to it. I just wanted to sing about Westworld. What? Why? What? I feel like no one's giving Alex enough credit for. It's right right here. Maybe it's a.

3:50.8

It's the fifth point one thing on here. That's why you can't say Alex. It's literally not written down. It's not. I watched Alex. Oh, that a great long time. Yeah, I think I just can't believe it, man. This is how he's trying to turn the crap. I'm going to allow it. I want to congratulate Alex and, you know, everybody else out there taking away my. I mean, I just I really was like blown away. Thank you, man. I don't understand how you did that. I don't really know how I did either.

4:20.8

I was pretty sure I was going to tap out well before the 24 and then somehow. Strength of the universe just started flowing through me toward the end there. And I just fucking power. Like there was a point where the arm pain. Just stop mattering. And I just kept going. It just didn't matter anymore. Were you sore the next day or two? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, for first day, especially. I'd say I was not moving my arms a whole lot. Surprise only little leg pain. I will say I was able to walk around pretty easily. You just have to use the one right for the pedal. Well, yeah, but I is as.

4:50.8

Someone who plays drums. I'm naturally just moving my left leg in time with that high heat. Yeah, like the high hat. So I do that. Let me interject here for a second. Yes, Vinnie. What five point one reasons that you have to interject. I've got five point one fantastic reasons why you should go donate to extra life. Okay. That's what we're talking about extra life. Alex of our own drummed for a godly ungodly amount. No God would do that to themselves drum. God. A drum. God might attempt it. Maybe. Maybe.

5:20.8

For 24 hours, 260 songs raised over $100,000 just in that 24 hours. Amazing, amazing work. Amazing work by, I would say, all of the people who generously donated to extra life, raising what is it? Almost $300,000 to die. I believe is where the team ended up. And if you want, you can still go and go and donate. It is tiny URL.com slash GB extra life 2018. If you want to donate some more,

5:50.6

there are still teams, I believe, actively part of the GB team who are streaming. Yeah. As of the time of this recording, donations are open until December, the end of the year, I believe you can get in there and donate. That money goes to help out the children's miracle hospital network. Yes. Some older, you see SF Benoff Children's Hospital, Vocal and just one that we target. And that money goes and helps out kids who are in the hospital, getting treatment, basically trying to make their stays better and ways to supplement the care they get.

6:20.6

Thank you to everybody who participated in extra life, Dan, Jeff Ackler, Abby, you all sat and played through the quiet man out. You were there for that too. Oh, I'm so glad I was here for that. I want to, before we move on to that, though, I want to do want to give a special thanks to Matt Pascual for organizing giant bombs extra light.

6:50.6

I also streaming all the participants who stream so far, whether they were on giant bomb or on their own, and also Ian Kelly, who made the overlays, and I think Orac might have done some of the graphic design on those overlays.

7:05.6

So thanks everybody involved. Extra life was pretty awesome this year. I would say it was a pretty rousing test all around. Yes. Now something came out of extra life. What came out of it?

7:18.6

The quiet man. Oh, it made me so happy. It made me so. I was frustrated. Here's the cons. It made me so happy because we've all played a million bad games before. Got him. We've forgotten so many bad games. We played some. I sure have. This one was a special kind of terrible. The likes of which, like, I, it's first big publisher games that they put out. Square Enix behind it. What else can you think of like in the history of games that has been this level.

7:47.6

This level, like, you know, too human. Was it a train wreck in Dicotana is one of those notorious ones. But that's what I'm saying is like, this is in the, like, top, top train wreck games of all times. I would say, I mean, yes, in the sense that it is a publisher of some stature.

8:03.6

Exactly. Certainly putting this out. I mean, it's, you know, if you were probably to ask where Enix even leading up to the release of this game, it probably wouldn't have even been in the top five things. They were promoting this year.

8:13.6

But nonetheless, they put that fucking thing out. Yeah. So here's. Here's why I think I would draw a distinction here. It seems to me. And I don't want to knock too hard. The people who worked on this game.

8:26.6

Of course. But what I will knock is some of their decisions and their vision. And I think, like, from what I, the sense I was getting, I think they might have nailed their vision. And that's what kind of makes me a little mad.

8:41.6

They probably planned on kind of more cohesivites because it was inconsistent. This isn't, this is not, this is not like a ton of where like, you're running into a thing where it's like, don't forget your body. Superfly. And you got like, wait, a doors and stuff like that. Or there are bugs. Right.
