and the Linda Vista Hospital in Los Angeles, California, goes a long way to reinforcing that story.

The hospital opened in 1904 and was used as a psychiatric hospital as well as a normal hospital.

Before it was closed in 1991, it saw a steady increase in patients due to an increase in violent gang-related crime in the surrounding Boyle Heights area.

Rumors of patient abuse and neglect circulated after its closure, which was soon replaced with ghost stories. People claim

to have witnessed the ghosts of past workers and patients still roaming the halls there. Many of the

ghost stories focus on Room 3-2-3, where it is believed a very angry and mentally unwell patient was kept, and also

the boiler room, where bodies of unidentified patients were cremated.

Although the building was remodelled in 2011 and now serves as apartments for seniors,
