In the middle of the lush green jungle, a group of chimpanzees begins to stir as the morning sun peaks through the trees.

Meet Charlie, the leader of this group, also known as the Alpha.

He's strong, smart, and respected by the other chimps.

By his side is Luna, his sister, who's always looking out for the younger members of the group.

Then there's little Joey, a young chimp who's curious about everything, and constantly learning from the others.

Charlie stretches his arms wide, giving a loud hoot to announce the start of the day.

Chimpanzees live in tropical forests across central and West Africa.

The jungle is full of resources they need,

trees for climbing, fruits for eating, and leaves for building nests.

Unlike humans, chimps don't sleep on the ground.

Each night they build new nests high up in the trees for safety. Using

leaves and branches, they make soft, round beds to rest in. Every chimp has to learn how to make a nest

as they grow up, and it's an important skill they practice over time. After stretching and waking up,

Charlie leads the group to a fruit tree nearby. Chimps eat a wide variety of foods, including fruits, leaves, seeds, and even insects.

Luna shows Joey how to pick the ripest fruit, choosing the ones with the sweetest smell.

Chimps are smart when it comes to finding food,

and they often work together. Their favorite fruits are bananas, figs, and mangoes, and

today they've found a tree filled with juicy figs. As they munch on the figs, Joey watches

the older chimps carefully. Chimpanzees learn through imitation

or copying what they see. Joey notices how Charlie and Luna carefully pick each fig,

peeling away any rough skin before eating. Chimpanzees are incredibly intelligent, and just like humans, they teach each other.

Joey's curious eyes follow every movement, and soon he's peeling his figs just like Luna.
