Summary

In the eyes of the world, the Christian way of being is strange. All Christians are called out of the world and into a new way: Christ's way. Christians must be very clear about how they are different from the world and confidently proclaim it. They must stop trying to fit into the ways of the world and rather tell the world to conform to Christ. Christ will break down the Gates of Hell and invade all that resist his Love.

This is Cardinal Francis George. I invite you to join me for the next two minutes to reflect

with Father Robert Barron on the Word of God, which is the Word on Fire. Word on Fire Catholic

Ministries is a non-profit ministry at the forefront of Catholic evangelization, using

new media to spread the faith and every continent. Father Barron challenges us to open our hearts

to the Word on Fire, which is God's Word of Love for each of us. If our hearts are open,

0:29.5

the Lord can change and transform us so that we might speak with love about the one who

returns to that scene that says a re-efilipi. For the whole of the faith really hinges upon

it. Jesus asked that peculiar question. Who do people say that I am? Who do you say that

1:06.3

I am? He's not asking about his teaching or about the impression he's making. He's asking

1:11.8

about his identity because that's finally what matters. As I've said a thousand times before,

1:18.7

it's not primarily his teaching that matters. So it's extremely important. But what matters

1:25.6

in the end is who he is. Simon alone correctly grasps the heart of the manor. You are the

1:37.4

Christ, the son of the living God. He sees that Jesus is not a figure about whom we can be

1:47.7

neutral or indifferent. Why? Well, if he is who he says he is, then we must give our whole

1:54.4

selves to him. You know, if he's one teacher among many, well, then I can put him on the shelf. I

1:59.9

can pay attention to him to some degree. I can say, well, isn't that interesting? But the other part

2:04.0

of what he says I don't like. But if he is who he says he is, if he is God moving among his people,

2:11.4

then well, I have to give my whole self to him. And by the way, if he's not who he says he is,

2:19.8

he's not a good teacher. In fact, he's a he's a very bad man. He's a rather deluded

2:24.6

fanatic because Jesus consistently speaks and acts in the very person of God. Well, see, Simon gets
