Oh man, thank you for tuning in another episode of the Bakari Cellars podcast. Our first episode in the post-Trump era.

You know that feels good to say.

I just celebrated my father's 76th birthday as a member of the

student nonviolent coordinating committee someone who was shot in the orange drug massacre February 8th of

1968 someone who has seen a lot. It felt good to be able to tell

them that, Dad, all I got you for your birthday was a new president. That feels good to say.

So everybody soak it up and enjoy your day.

Today we'll be interviewing Kristen Clark from the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights

but before we get to our interview I wanted to have a family conversation with Democrats about this

election based on what we think we know now. So let's not make it a small

item because we have won the presidency. That's huge. That's a good thing. But we also

underperformed in key races in Maine, North Carolina, Iowa, and Alaska. We didn't win high-profile races in places like Texas,

Kentucky, and South Carolina. House Democrats are on pace to lose a net five

seats and that number could double.

We need two Senate races in Georgia in January

to save the Biden Harris presidency

from Mitch McConnell, and Democrats

didn't flip a single state legislature

with redistricting around the corner in 2021.

So how are we feeling after this big election

and how are we dealing with this fallout? We decided we would just go on Twitter, go on the news and start

finger pointing.
