Capitol. I'm sitting here in this great room with these phenomenal Georgetown law students.

They invited us to do We The People when a few months ago at Berkeley, I issued a call saying,

Law Students of America, invite We The People to come live and broadcast from your law schools,

and the phenomenal Georgetown American Constitution Society and Federalist Society chairs

invited us, and here we are to discuss an incredibly important topic namely the future

of federalism. Now the Democrats have lost control of both the White House and

Congress some progressives are rediscovering the virtues of what some call progressive federalism in their attempts to resist President Trump.

And now that Republicans have finally regained unified control, some principled

conservatives remain steadfast in their devotion to states' rights,

whereas others are downplaying federalism in an effort to advance a national agenda.

So to tease out these incredibly important constitutional issues, we have a dream team of federalism
