Hey good morning. I'm Patricia Murphy. It's Monday. This is Seattle now. Izzell's

famous chicken is a decades-old Seattle institution. It's also family run, but its next chapter might look a little different.

Nationwide expansion steered from outside of the family. We'll talk about it with owner Lewis Rudd and reporter Egan Ward in a minute.

But first, let's get you caught up.

Students, put those phones away.

Beginning today, Seattle Public Schools is implementing stricter rules for using phones at school.

Students in eighth grade and below will have their phones turned off and put away for the entire school day.

High schoolers will be required to put their phones away during class, but will be allowed to use them at lunch and during passing

periods. This is the first time the district has implemented a district-wide phone policy for

students. Candidate filing week begins today for this year's elections.

That means if you want to run for public office in Washington, including Congress, you need to register by this Friday.

All 10 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives are up for election, as well as 120 seats in the Washington State Legislature.

On the city council, only District 5 in North Seattle is up for election,
