The AP used to say the wheelchair-bound attorney. Now we say the attorney who uses a wheelchair.

And they used to say illegal immigrant. But not anymore. From WNYC in New York, this is on the media.

I'm Brooke Gladstone. And I'm Bob Garfield. As veteran journalists flee Somalia,

child journalists are enlisted, both to report and to smear.

The amazing thing to me is that young Somali journalists are still willing to sacrifice themselves

just for the chance of one day ascending to a job where they can tell the truth.

And in post-revolutionary Egypt, a TV satirist becomes the leading edge in the fight for genuine freedom of expression.

It could be that Bass and Yusuf will be the figure that first establishes the right to make fun of a president of Egypt.

In the way that John Peter Zanger, you know, before the American Revolution,

established the right of the free press in our country to make fun of and mock the powerful.
