Herb Klein served in the U.S. Navy and in the White House.

He was the first director of communications during the Nixon administration.

He was also a veteran journalist and a newsman for six decades,

editor-in-chief of the Copley newspapers, until he was 85 years old.

Even after he retired, he remained a consultant, evidence of his tireless commitment to civic leadership.

And as if that's not enough, he was also a proud USC trustee, dedicated alumnus, mentor for students, faculty, university administrators, and deans,
