National Archives to the January 6th Committee that would have allowed the military to seize

voting machines around the country right after the 2020 election.

And that is just the latest revelation involving the loser, former president,

his associates, and their efforts to overturn the legitimate results of the last presidential

race. But the uncomfortable truth is that Donald Trump, the shameless man at the center of all

of this, remains by far the most popular and the most powerful individual

in today's Republican Party. Even though he's been out of office more than a year, he's not

currently running for office, he can still attract and rile up a large crowd like he did at a rally

in Florence, Arizona last week. Over at the nation's capital, his most ingratiating supporters in Congress

are being elevated to positions of leadership this last week.

Colorado Republican Lauren Bobert, who never publicly apologized for making up insane

Islamophobic lies about her colleague Ilhan Omar was elected to serve as the new

communications chair of the ultra-conservative House Freedom Caucus.

That same caucus now headed by Pennsylvania Representative Scott Perry, whom we've discussed on this show.

He is one of the congressional members that the January 6th Select Committee
