Summary

The 2021/2022 season was a special, record-breaking campaign for Fulham, as the Whites lifted a league title for the first time in 21 years, scored 106 goals and Aleksandar Mitrović broke practically all the second tier scoring records.

This is a new podcast format called The Fulhamish Annual. In this episode, we tell the story of the season via the lens of the podcast, hopefully offering a window into what fan opinion was at various points of the campaign.

Narrated by Sammy, it features numerous different voices that have been on the show throughout the past year.

0:09.5	UK, and my name is Sammy James. Welcome to the first ever Fulhamish annual. Bit of a different
0:16.2	episode today. This is a new idea that we're trying on the podcast and we're going to be taking a look
0:21.6	back at the season that just was. So in this episode, we're going to be diving back through
0:26.6	the triumphant 21-22 campaign for Fulham, giving a snapshot of the conversation at various
0:32.8	points during the season. We'll be going all the way from preseason expectations to Fulham's title
0:38.9	winning, 7-0 win over Luton Town as the records tumbled and the trophy was lifted. But we start back
0:45.7	on July 1st, 2021. Fulham were managerless after Scott Parker's protracted exit to Bournemouth,
0:52.4	and there was huge uncertainty which direction
0:54.6	was next. Many top names were touted including Chris Wilder and Valerian Ishmael, but
0:59.2	Fulham surprised us all when this news came to light.
1:01.6	Fulham, close to finalising a deal to make Marco Silver their new head coach, former
1:08.7	Fulham winger, Louis Boa Mortorte, expected to be Silver's assistant as well.
1:13.6	My understanding is that Marco Silver was Fulham's first choice. It's been an interesting process
1:19.4	because as you say, there has been those rumours. Both Chris Wilder and Steve Cooper were
1:23.7	under consideration by Fulham. Eddie Howell too, but Eddie Howe wasn't interested in the job.
1:28.6	Whenever I was trying to have conversations with people,
1:30.6	there was always the sense that there's someone else.
1:32.3	There's someone else that isn't currently in discussion, really.
1:35.9	It hasn't really been reported on.
1:38.2	And there was a real determination to sort of keep it under wraps.
