Hello everyone, Kirk Hamilton here, and I have got some guitar-y goodness for you all

this week.

About a year ago, I recorded a Patreon bonus episode about the four types of electric

guitar that you hear on the vast majority of recordings, particularly the recordings

that I've talked about thus far on strong songs.

It was a fun bonus episode to make, and it wound up being a lot more involved than I planned

when I set out to make it.

I recorded a lot of examples for this episode.

So I'm going to be talking about some more guitar stuff in the near future, as I'm sure

a lot of you know I've been taking guitar lessons for the last year and a half, really

kind of taking the instrument seriously for the first time, even though I've played it

for many years.

I'm only just now starting to actually learn the fretboard, transcribe some solos, and

really feel like I have a handle on the instrument.

I figured that would be a fun part of my own musical journey to share with listeners,

so I'm going to be talking about some more guitar in the near future, and I wanted everyone

to have a shared frame of reference, and I think this episode is a good part of that,

because it just has a lot of sort of basic guitar 101 literacy, what each type of guitar

is for, what they all sound like.

So I've brushed the bonus episode up, I've added some new material and some new examples,

and here it is, I'm putting it out in the main feed.
