Lost doctrine. Paul taught us that in our day many will do what? Depart from the faith.

Now, this is not talking about sinners.

This is not talking about unsaved people.

It's saying that they would depart from where?

The faith.

That means they're going to turn away from what is right according to the doctrine of the faith. Amen? He was speaking of the doctrine that he and the

apostles have established in his day. How important is it for us to stay and adhere to the doctrine

that Paul and the apostles established? Because that's the only doctrine there is.

They had to create the doctrine based on Jesus in a time where there was no New Testament.

Amen?

So that tells you right there.

Paul couldn't be married.

Do you know how hard that is?

How much time he had to dedicate to establishing a doctrine in a time where no doctrine was established?

Then you had the people coming alongside of him taking what he taught and twisting it with Gnosticism.

So not only did he have to teach and lay the foundation of a doctrine,

then he had to clean up the doctrine right after he laid it down

because people were confusing the doctrine with Gnosticism.

Amen? It's a busy time for him.

1 Timothy 4.1 says,

Now the Spirit speak it expressly that in the latter time some shall depart from the faith.
