Hello, hello New York Rangers fans and welcome to episode 26 of the Flying V podcast.

I'm your host, Vincent McCogliano, of The Athletic, and we are in a quiet week, a quiet time of year, at least for teams like the Rangers and reporters like myself

who cover teams that missed the playoffs because everybody's home.

We're watching the playoffs from home.

But settling into the off season right now, first week or so now where I haven't had to travel anywhere. We're past

breakup day, which we went over at length on last week's episode, getting some quality

family time. Haven't done anything too crazy yet to this point, but highlights like getting

to go to my son's first t-ball practice

of the year. I got my first round of golfing. That was very up and down. Caught some fire in the

middle, had a handful of pars and things that I felt good about, and also had way too many

triple bogeys. So that's just the time of year for you golf people

out there. You know how it is early in the season. It's still shaking off those cobwebs, but definitely

felt good to be out there. And of course, what start to an off season would it be if my kids,

who were sick last week, didn't pass that on to my wife and I, who have now been feeling under the weather

the last few days, but starting to turn the corner a little bit today and powering through

and certainly wanted to give you guys a new podcast on our regular schedule. I had been working

on quite a few stories for the athletic. A few of them have

already gone up. Last week, Peter Baugh and I did our 10 questions for the season. I always find

that to be a pretty useful exercise because it forces us to critically think about, okay, what are the biggest issues?

What are the biggest questions?

What needs to be answered if you, especially are sitting in Chris Jury's seat,

heading into this off season?
