Hello, hello, and welcome to episode 16 of the Flying V podcast. I'm your host, Vincent

McCogliano, of The Athletic, and we finally have some Panarin trade news to report and

react to, and that is exactly what we are going to do on this week's episode.

I was waiting to record until we had something definitive to talk about.

And now here we are.

It's about 6.15 on Wednesday evening.

I have temporarily put down the pen, so to speak, really the keyboard, and finished at least for now.

The writing that I had to do for the athletic also went on the athletic hockey podcast,

which you guys can find anywhere that you get your podcast to do some live reaction with some

of my colleagues from the athletic there. So definitely check that out if you

haven't had a chance. If you're just consuming even more of this content, but obviously you're

going to hear me talk a lot about it right here on the flying V. This is just going to be our

typical emergency reaction episode, whatever you want to call it, because I have a window here to record.

So I'm going to kind of unload my brain for you guys with everything that I have to say,

everything that I've reported out, all my thoughts on the trade that sent Artemi Panarin to the Los Angeles Kings.

And then I'm going to have to bolt in a little while because actually Chris Jury will be doing a

Zoom call with reporters first time he's talked to us, at least officially, since training camp.

And we've been waiting to kind of ask him some questions, especially in the aftermath of the

letter. He did not speak at the time that the letter came out. Obviously, we talked about that a little bit on previous episodes. And now we're going to get a chance to ask him some of the questions that I think are not only on my mind, but I'm sure on a lot of your minds as well. So definitely want to be prepared and ready for that. I'll have a story going up on the athletic later on about that. We've had a lot of stories already flying out for you guys in the aftermath of this trade.

And that's going to continue in the next coming days.

It really is amazing to work at a place like this where there's so many people that are on top of things and so many resources

because we're just going to be able to attack this from every different angle.
