It has been an extremely discouraging week for the Rangers who at this point,

there's no hiding from the fact. There's no skirting this. There's no way around it. They are

very much looking down the barrel of what will have to be at least some level of rebuild.

This team is falling apart in front of our eyes, and there's a lot for us to unpack.

Now, quickly at the top, let me mention our guest this week, another one of my very talented

colleagues at the athletic Arpin Basu, who covers the Canadians for us. He is coming on in the middle of this

episode to discuss exactly what that rebuild might look like. It actually caught my eye

earlier this week while I was working on a story of my own examining what the Rangers might

have to do to rip this band-aid off

and looking at some examples of other teams around the league that have gone through a similar

process in recent years. Well, Arpin and my other colleague, Max Bolton, who covers the Detroit

Red Wings, wrote a story about basically what those teams had to do over time to build themselves

back up.
