Well, well, well, hello, and welcome to episode one of the Flying V podcast.

I'm your host, Vincent McCogliano, of The Athletic, and it is so good to be back.

I am back on the podcasting, Mike, different name, same voice. Thank you so much for all of

your patience. I've heard from many of you in the last number of weeks wondering if and when

the podcast would come back. I told you guys things were in the works, but I was in the process of

starting a new job and lining certain things up and trying to make sure that when we did

reintroduce the podcast, that I would be able to hit the ground running. And I can tell you that

after a crazy couple months, we are finally at that point.

Again, new job for me now.

I am now with the athletic.

I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work at a place that I have long admired from afar,

known some people there over the years, and now to call myself a part of that family

has been humbling and just an incredible experience for me right off the bat.

I mean, I'm not going to go through the whole process for you guys, but basically,

things kind of came together over the summer.

And when they made the offer, I felt like it was an opportunity for me to take my coverage to the next level.

As proud as I am of everything that I was able to do with lohud.com and the USA Today Network.

And as thankful as I am to everybody there and many people there who helped me out a lot over the years along the way.

Again, to me, the athletic is like the place to be.

I believe, and maybe I'm a little biased now, but I've even felt this before I worked there,

that they have the most comprehensive sports coverage and especially most comprehensive NHL coverage around.

And now to be able to work in that kind of an environment with so much support and so much
