And this week we're going to be talking about the 1986 science fiction horror film The Fly, directed and co-written by David Cronenberg and starring

Jeff Goldblum, Gina Davis, and John Gets. In this loose remake of the 1958 film, a scientist

accidentally fuses his genes with that of an insect, causing his new girlfriend and her ex-boyfriend

it's really cool to have a guest for this episode. You're actually the first

guest I feel like I've actually met in person, so I was kind of worried that you weren't going to

show up because, yeah, thanks for coming back. Yeah, for sure. Nice to meet you in person and

now digitally, so here we are. Yeah, yeah, cool. And before we jump into the movie in the background of it,

I'd love to hear more from you in terms of your background, your connection with horror,

what inspired you to start a horror-themed coffee shop? Yeah, what do you got for us?

Awesome. Yeah, so my dad was a big, like, you know, 50s and 60s beat horror film fan growing up.

So he kind of instilled that into me, like make me like my favorite monster is the creature of Black Lagoon.
