Summary

The Longhorns will need to have a short memory to put last weekend's heart-breaking loss to Oklahoma in the past and get ready for another Top 25 battle this Saturday when No. 12 ranked Oklahoma State heads to Austin for an 11 a.m. kickoff against No. 25 ranked Texas. But the Longhorns will be without two key starters on both sides of the ball when they host the Cowboys this weekend.

The Flagship Podcast gets the Texas-Oklahoma State game week started off with a loaded show as Horns247 columnist Chip Brown and managing editor Taylor Estes discuss all head coach Steve Sarkisian had to say Monday after he watched the film of the Longhorns' loss to the Sooners in the Red River Shootout. The Flagship weighs in on Sarkisian's concerns coming out of the Oklahoma game, including the lack of pass-rush shown in the second half against Oklahoma and the Longhorns' inability to get pressure on true freshman QB Caleb Williams, and also how Texas will replace two key players on offense and defense after he announced wide receiver Jordan Whittington (clavicle) and edge-rusher Jacoby Jones (foot) will undergo surgery after both went down with injuries against the Sooners. The co-hosts discuss the guys who are next in line to replace the injured Longhorns, and why sophomore edge rusher Alfred Collins has a chance to solidify a starting role on the defense after back-to-back games where he made big plays coming off of the bench.

After a quick break, The Flagship returns with our Love it or Leave it segment, with this weeks topics focused on how alarming the defense's last three games have been, the level of concern for the Texas offense in replacing Whittington and what to make of Oklahoma State's 5-1 record against Texas in the last six games in Austin.
