Summary

On this week's interview episode of The Flagship Podcast, Horns247 columnist Chip Brown picks the brain of longtime college football authority Bruce Feldman about Texas' hiring of Steve Sarkisian. Feldman, who covers college football for FOX as well as The Athletic, has also written several books, including his most recent - Flip The Script: Lessons learned on the road to a championship with Ed Orgeron. Chip asked Feldman to compare the career arcs of Orgeron and Sarkisian as Sark now takes on the expectations at Texas after failing at USC previously (just as Orgeron had to take on the expectations at LSU after also being let go as an interim coach at USC). Feldman, who is based on the West Coast and is very familiar with Pac-12 football, weighed in on Sarkisian's hiring of Washington's Pete Kwiatkowski as defensive coordinator and Montana State head coach Jeff Choate as co-defensive coordinator and inside linebackers coach. Feldman discusses how he thinks Kwiatkowski's defensive philosophy will fit in the Big 12. Feldman worked with Urban Meyer this past season at FOX and provided insight on what that was like while Texas was courting Meyer. Feldman also rates (on a scale of 1-10) how he thinks Texas did with the hiring of Sarkisian and Sark's staff. Catch all of that and much more on this week’s interview edition of The Flagship Podcast.
