Summary

Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian is working to complete his coaching staff with the Longhorns after officially taking over for Tom Herman last Tuesday following Alabama’s win over Ohio State in the College Football Playoff National Championship.  On this week’s interview edition of The Flagship Podcast, Horns247 welcomes Travis Reier from BamaOnline.com to get an in-depth view of the first-year Texas head coach.  The Flagship Podcast interview episode discusses Reier’s thoughts on Texas hiring Steve Sarkisian after he covered the former Alabama OC for two years and how much of Bama's success the past two years on offense is the talent recruited by Nick Saban and how much of it has been Sark? What is Texas getting in Kyle Flood as an offensive line coach and likely offensive coordinator? How good of a recruiter is Flood? Who is A.J. Milwee, whom Sark is bringing in as QB coach? Reier gave his thoughts on Sark luring tight ends and special teams coordinator Jeff Banks away from Saban's staff and if Bama assistants have a shelf life under Saban. Alabama defensive coordinator Pete Golding appeared to be someone Sarkisian was interested in possibly bringing to Texas. Reier weighed in what Golding has meant to Alabama and Saban the past three seasons. Finally, Reier gave his thoughts on how successful Sarkisian will be as the head coach at Texas. Catch all of that and more on this week’s interview episode of The Flagship Podcast with BamaOnline.com writer Travis Reier.
