Summary

It's a football overload on this week's episode of The Flagship Podcast! After what seems to be an eternity of no sports, the start of July means fall camp is right around the corner. As it currently stands, college football teams will begin the fall camp schedule come mid July after the NCAA approved an extended, six-week preseason schedule leading up to the 2020 college football season. With football right around the corner, this week's episode of The Flagship Podcast is about football and football only! The Longhorns have made their way back to campus for voluntary workouts as they approach an ever important season of the Tom Herman era. With 16 starters returning from last years roster, Texas enters the 2020 season as one of the most experienced teams in the Big 12 Conference and ranks among the top 25 FBS teams in returning production. Horns247 columnist Chip Brown and managing editor Taylor Estes open the show with a detailed break down of how Texas' returning production compares to other Big 12 teams, most notably Oklahoma State as the Cowboys lead the conference in returning starters and returning production. While the Longhorns arguably have the most talented team overall in the Big 12 this season, the Pokes have plenty of weapons at their disposal in one of the nation's best running backs, Chuba Hubbard, and one of the most explosive receivers in Tylan Wallace. The Flagship then welcomes in special guest, former member of the 2005 National Championship team Tim Crowder for his take on the Longhorns talent entering the 2020 season. Crowder, who has trained several Longhorns through his training company Nuclear Athletes, has a personal relationship with a number of players on Texas' roster and offers his expert analysis of how the Longhorns, if utilizing their talent properly, could be poised to make a national run during the 2020 football season. Chip and Taylor turn their focus to the weekly 'Love It or Leave It' segment, featuring questions centered around the possibility of a breakout season for DB-turned-LB DeMarvion Overshown, if Hudson Card will emerge as the No. 2 quarterback before the end of 2020, Caden Sterns' chances of being named first team All-Big 12 after an up and down sophomore campaign and if Vince Young was deserving of the 2005 Heisman Trophy. Catch all of that and much more on this week's football overload episode of The Flagship Podcast. The Flagship Podcast — featuring co-hosts Chip Brown and Taylor Estes with Horns247 publisher Bobby Burton as a frequent contributor — hits the airwaves each Wednesday, and centers around all the latest happenings surrounding the University of Texas and college athletics, with big-name guests joining the show on a weekly basis.
