Just about two hours ago, we got the first word from the Las Vegas Police Department

that there was an active shooter on the campus of

the University of Nevada Las Vegas. That is right in the heart of the city of

Vegas just a short distance off the strip behind the MGM Grand Hotel for those who know it.

There was also an alert immediately sent out by university officials
