In episode 454 astrologers Chris Brennan and Nick Dagan Best explain the meaning of the first house in astrology, and explore its significations by looking at different planets in the rising sign and Ascendant. 0:21.1	Yeah, this is a big topic. I've been meaning to do this series for a while. I already did a full series a few years ago on the meaning of each of the planets in astrology, and then I followed that up with a year-long series on the meaning of each of the science of the zodiac.
0:34.8	So now I'm going to be doing this as the first episode in a new series where I do a deep dive into the meaning of each of the 12 houses in astrology and we're going to start here with the very first house which is the first house itself.
0:49.0	So thanks a lot for joining me. This is a big topic, but it's one that's probably one of the most important in
0:55.8	astrology because the houses are so crucial to birth chart interpretation.
1:01.5	Yeah, absolutely. And they are the most confounding part of horoscopic astrology, I'd say, because they're clearly the part of astrology that were designed by, that was designed by people as opposed to, you know, the study of planets, which is just a sort of an observation of nature.
1:17.0	So their origin is mysterious to us.
1:21.0	There's a sort of inherent logic to them, but at the same time, they're
1:25.9	sort of almost out of reach in terms of trying to understand them fully. So that, yeah, they require a lot more
