Seven years ago, we began these daily broadcast.

You may not know this, but enjoying the journey actually started during the Christmas season.

We set aside a month of Christmas

studies to search the scriptures, to learn the beautiful joy of the coming of Christ and all that

was connected to it. And now, as we celebrate the end of our seventh year of broadcast, I'm so excited

to share these studies with you again. I want to encourage you to

get your Bible, get your family, sit down, and let's worship our great Christ together. At the

conclusion of today's study, Greg will come and tell you more about how you can obtain other resources

that will help you in your Bible study and family life and how

you can pray with us and help us in the days ahead. Thank you for being a part of the enjoying the

journey family. May God give you a blessed Christmas. If I were to ask you to share with me

the Christmas story, immediately you would make a beeline for the gospel according

to Matthew or the gospel according to Luke and yet it's interesting that some of the greatest

Christmas passages are not found in the New Testament they're found in the Old Testament it's

reminder that all of God's word is connected and that the Old Testament and New Testament don't compete with each other.

They complete one another. The Old Testament is the foundation upon which the New Testament builds.

It's a progressive revelation, God unveiling himself to man. And one of the most amazing truths that I've

discovered is that the first Christmas story is found

all the way back in the book of Genesis. As a matter of fact, 4,000 years prior to the coming
