Well, it turns out at least in Finland, they are not

compatible. Proof, well, the Finnish Supreme Court just found Dr. Pivey Rossin guilty of hate speech.

Why? What was her crime? Her crime was putting the biblical teaching on homosexuality into writing.

joining us to talk about the Finnish Supreme Court ruling on a freedom of speech and religion case involving Lutheran leaders in Finland, Dr. Pavi Rassanan, a medical doctor and married mother of five children.

She's a member of the Finnish Parliament. She formerly served as the Minister of the Interior

of Finland and chair of the Finnish Christian Democrats. Dr. Rossinen, welcome back. Thank you so much.

Are you surprised by the Finnish Supreme Court ruling, acquitting you of several charges, but then

finding you guilty of one charge of hate crime.

Yes, I have to say that it was quite shocking and surprising the ruling that I got today.

Because I was acquitted in the lower court, in the Helsing court and court of appeal and they were

unanimous acquittals and so I couldn't imagine that I would be convicted in the Supreme

Court but the ruling came.

Give us the history of your court battle for religious liberty there in Finland.

Yes, this has been quite a long process. It started almost seven years ago in June 2019.

And at that time, the Finnish Evangelical Lutheran Church, seven years ago in June 2019.
