0:05.2	Committee on January 6th, which originally aired on Monday, December 19th, 2022. We're re-broadcasting
0:12.6	this hearing because at the Lincoln Project, we know that it is imperative for the future of our
0:16.9	nation's democracy, that the findings of this committee are heard by as many Americans as possible,
0:22.1	whether it's by way of live television, watching an online stream, or in this case,
0:26.3	by listening to it as a podcast. And without further ado, here's the House Select Committee on January 6th.
0:34.3	A quorum being present, the Select Committee to investigate the January 6th attack
0:39.8	on a United States Capitol will be in order. Without objection, the chairs are authorized to
0:46.0	declare the committee and recess at any point. Pursuit the House Deposition Authority Regulation 10,
0:54.4	the chair announces the committee's approval to release the deposition material presented during
1:00.4	today's meeting. And further, it's approval to release deposition material that accompanies
1:06.9	release of the Select Committee's final report. Good afternoon, and may God bless the United States
1:15.2	of America. To cast a vote in the United States is an act of faith and hope. When we drop that
1:23.6	ballot in the ballot box, we expect the people named on the ballot are going to uphold that end
1:31.2	of the deal. The winner swairs and oaths and upholds it, those who come up short ultimately accept
1:39.7	the results and abide by the rule of law. That faith in our system is the foundation of American
1:47.8	democracy. If the faith is broken, so is our democracy. Down front broke that faith. He lost
1:57.6	the 2020 election and knew it. But he chose to try to stay in office through a multi-part scheme
2:05.3	to overturn the results and block the transfer of power. In the end, he summoned the mob to
2:12.9	Washington and knowingly, they were armed and angry, pointed them to the Capitol and told them
2:20.9	to fight like hell. There's no doubt about this. This afternoon, my colleagues will present our
