Stacey was supposed to be with us.

It was supposed to be a double date.

But my dear Stacey is climbing out of a cold

and doesn't have quite the voice this morning that we were looking for so it'll be the three of us

but it's not COVID it's not no yeah yeah and you can't get it through a podcast

so everybody rest assured.

Share I know that Advent is something that you treasure and love each year and I'm

curious why like what's that about?

Johnny, I would say Advent has its roots

and God's early wooing of me fighting for my heart,

introducing me to the sacred romance

in a semi-Laturgical Protestant church

that I went to.

So everything about it that the candles, the wreath, the consistency of it from a little, you know we we would have a children sermon and we

would gather on the chancel steps and a kiddo would take a turn lighting and we'd

sing the Advent song so it's rooted in God's early romance of my heart, but I had a commitment to Jesus through a really a conversion in college where I really responded personally and decided to

Follow the way of Christ and give my heart to him. So it obviously as things in our lives do, it has taken on so many new layers of meaning and then

becoming baptized into the message of wild at heart and

this heart of this beautiful king that we're waiting to come who has come who is

coming who will come again so to me it connects me to the ancient of our faith
